Full Version: Are You A Master Auctioneer???

I have openings in my new league, The Auction Masters League. The fee for this league is $75 and all money collected is paid out as winnings. Here is the Bylaws section of the web site where you can see all of the particulars and a more detailed layout of the rules of the league: http://football24.myfantasyleague.com/2008...=70463&O=26

In this league, each owner will purchase 30 players during 3 different 10 player auctions. Since this is a total re-auction league, you will have to purchase 30 new players every year. Restrictions will apply to each section of the auction to prevent any team from hoarding players at certain positions. Please see the rules on the web page shown above for these restrictions.

1) The first 10 player auction will start as soon as the league is full and everyone has paid.
2) The second 10 player auction will start in Mid May. This is when Rookies will first be available. Also, during this second part of the auction, each team must purchase enough players at each position to fill a full starting lineup. See below for what this is.
3) The third 10 player auction will start in Mid August and will complete the auction process.

The starting lineups for this league are 1-2 QB’s, 2-3 RB’s, 4-6 WR’s, 1-2 TE’s, 1 K, 1 NFL Team Defense and 1 NFL Team Offense for a total of 13 players.

The Scoring Rules for the league are shown here: http://football24.myfantasyleague.com/2008...=70463&O=09

During each section of the auction, each owner will be given $100 to purchase 10 players. Each owner will be allowed to put up 2 players to start the auction then can’t put up another player until you’ve won a player. The timer for this auction will be 12 hours. Certain rules apply to how many players from certain positions can be put up during each section of the auction. See the rules in the Bylaws section of the site under the Additional Rules.

Waivers - There will be NO waivers at any time during the course of the season. Once the auction is over, the only way to acquire new players is through trades. Hence the reason why it’s called The Auction Masters League

Trading - No trading is allowed until after the final auction is over. The reason for this is explained in the league rules under trading. After that, trading is allowed until the week 11 games are finalized.

The Playoffs - Determining who makes the playoffs is a little different in this league. Essentially, the 3 division winners and the 3 teams, from the remaining 9 teams, that scored the most points make the regular playoffs. The remaining 6 teams will play in the toilet bowl playoffs.

Payouts - As I said, all money collected is paid out. Please see the Additional Rules section on the site for this.

Anyway, if this sounds like a league you’d like to join, either send me a PM through this site or send an email to LoneWolf1023@aol.com. I’m hoping to get at least a few people to join from this site. wink.gif

Thanks.

PS. To Paypal.com, if you’re looking for the Legal Disclaimer, please look at the bottom of the league web site shown above. Thank you.

LOL Nah! His is Auction Masters Challenge. wink.gif

Besides, mine is called this because it's the same as my league called The Draft Masters League, but it's got an auction draft. No intent was meant to steal the name of anyone else's league. lol Tiarzvei.gif

The absence of IDP's may be turning some off. I only play in one league that still uses team defense and I've been lobbying for conversion to IDP for the past two years. It's the same reason that I don't find the FF.com member championship leagues interesting.

I guess I can understand that, but I'm not a big fan of IDP leagues. I am in 2 of them, but I'd much rather root for a guy to run the ball for a TD or catch a pass for a TD then root for some LB or CB to tackle that same player. lol It's kind of like having your starting QB playing against your starting Defense. Who the heck do you root for? LOL

Although, if I was only in 5-8 leagues, I'd probably have more interest because then I'd have time to do the research necessary to do well in them.

Anyway, at least I know that somebody looked down here in the Private Leagues Section. LOL

I would venture to guess that most are the same as myself and have too many leagues. I know this sounds funny to a guy who is in so many leagues as yourself, but it is true.

Oh no, that doesn't sound funny at all. I said the same last year and am even saying the same thing this year. I did cut down to 17, but went back to 18 with my new league. So I know all about being in too many leagues.

My problem is, for the most part, they're all different. Different types of leagues, different kinds of drafts, etc. I had 3 that I was going to drop, but I won them last year and feel like I can't walk away from a winner. lol

Oh well, if nobody signs up for this league, then I'll just fold it. One less league I have to worry about for the coming season. lol

I am the Auction Master (well, I won the league). But I too had to cut back on quite a few great leagues. mad.gif Some I really enjoyed.

I would say that you might be a little early. Most of the hardcore guys and gals already have their plates full. Come late July, early August you will probably get more takers.

Good luck! Tiarzvei.gif
