I am thinking about starting a 32-team league for 2008. The basic premise would be to start with the actual rosters as they are on the NFL teams prior to the first preseason game of 2008. If an owner wanted to come into the league and take the Minnesota team, he would start with the actual Vikings roster.
After the initial start-up, owners would be able to trade players, cut players or pickup free agents as they saw fit. The first actual draft would not take place until March 2009, PRIOR to the actual NFL draft. Owners would not be required to mimic the picks and transactions of the actual NFL team.
Also, I would realign the divisions to where they are regionally divided. For example, in this new league - Oakland and SF would be in the same division, the two NY teams would share the same division, etc, etc.
BTW, every player's score will count every week and you will play teams within your own division at least three times each for 13 weeks with one bye week (the schedule would have to be tweaked to account for the weeks the real-time NFL teams are having their bye weeks). Playoffs run weeks 14-17.
It would have an entry fee of just $30.00 per team and would be a trophy-only league. This (or possibly something a little better if I can get a good price) would be the trophy:

The entry fee would cover MFL site fee, purchasing the trophy and shipping it to the League Champion.
Since it will be a huge league, I wanted to see if there would be enough interest in it before devoting a lot of time to setting it up.
If you are interested, please let me know.
