Philly Firebirds checking in here. Thanks for starting the thread Richard. I thought the whole league was guys from ff.com, but I couldn't figure out who the heck some of these guys were.

Not sure about knowledgeable but I'm a good BS'er. But yeah I used to post a LOT at the Asylum. Been hanging my hat at SportsGrumblings.com since then and do a little writing for them (although not so much now that I've got 3 kids....just no time). It is nice to see some familiar faces that I haven't seen in a couple years.

Is there a way to put players on the official NFL IR list on IR in this league?

Whew! I was really sweating this one. The way my week's been going, I thought the Manning INT was going to do me in. Seems like every week I'm sweating out the last few minutes of the Monday Night game. Good luck the rest of the way Darin.

I really wish this thread was more active. I thought everybody in this league came from the message boards. Where is everybody?

I don't think we have an IR setup but let me take a look.

I don't think you can create an IR now. Some of us have already dropped our injured players. I dropped Mike Walker about a month ago, and I just picked up Kenny Irons who was dropped by another owner. I think IR is a good idea, but we should probably wait until next year at this point.


Rat's ass!!!!!!!!!!! I just realized I fell asleep and missed waivers. That's something we definitely NEED to change about this league. We need to go to either last-place-first or blind bidding waivers. This yahoo-like race to the waiver wire every Monday night crap really sucks.

Just curious Richard... have you heard from Southern Cross? (Butch, I think) He did not set his lineup this week.

Damn, I know he had something that had come up, but I hadn't noticed he hadn't set his lineup in this league.


The good news is that it didn't effect the outcome. I will e-mail him and make sure all is well.

Sorry Richard. I take that back. I sguess I should have looked at his roster first. It looks like he has about 30 players on bye this week. That is just sick. Take a look at his roster. I've never seen anything like that before.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, I believe the 4 playoff participants have now been decided. It looks like The Super Cereal Man Bear Pigs (ScullyDawg) will be the #1 seed, and The Infamous(???) will be the #3 seed. The Sacramento Spartans (KingCook), and my team, the Philadelphia Firebirds, will do battle next week, with the winner earning the #2 seed and the loser falling to the #4 seed.

Since we are going to be having a 16 round rookie draft, is there any chance of adding a practice squad for next season?

I'm certainly open to that possibility. I'll put it to a vote of the league owners ASAP.

Super Cereal ManBearPig, led by Scullydawg himself, Baker Leigh, captured the League Championship in this league's inaugural season.

Congratulations to Baker on his win.

On a side note, Baker also captured the league title in the inaugural season of Scribe's Legends of the Fall league. Hmmm, maybe we should rename these two leagues and replace Scribe's with Scully's in the league names since he seems to have owned both leagues this year.

I also want to thank all of the owners for a great first season and I hope all of you will be back next year.

Our annual draft, 16-rounds with a 12-hour timer, gets underway at Noon EDT/9 a.m. PDT on Sat. May 17th, 2008.

And somehow the defending champion Super Cereal ManBearPigs have the first pick of the draft.

As commish, I really should launch an investigation, but unfortunately I have destroyed all notes and tapes relating to how the champs managed to secure the first pick and Arlen "Mr. Magic Bullet Theory" Specter can go stuff himself as far as I am concerned.
