Full Version: New Redraft League Forming - Join!

TheFierce
After years of hardcore leagues, dynasty leagues, auction leagues, etcetera, I’ve now spent part of the 2007 summer looking for a decent old-school draft league. If you’re interested in the same type of thing, this league is probably for you.

The Fierce is founding a new fantasy league that gets back to the roots of the hobby while still benefiting from years of fantasy league setup advancement. I’m starting a new redraft non-IDP fantasy league.

After looking all over the web for a decent game to join I realized that even if I were to find something like what I’m interested in that the payout is going to be weak. This new league would be hosted on MFL.com and will use a 100% payout system. The entry fee is $40 for twelve teams. Of the cumulative $480, $80 would go to the league hosting site. The remaining $400 would be split for prizes - $240, 120, 40 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively.

Here’s the settings and rules:

Redraft – live draft style - draft positions selected by random draw (you random to get selection order and then can pick your draft spot in order)
12-team league – 3 divisions
Dues – payable to the commish, me, via Paypal to confirm your involvement before site’s even set up.
10 starters: 1QB-2RB-3WR-1TE-1K-1DEF-1OFF Flex (RB, WR, TE)
18-man roster
Schedule – “All-Play” You play every team in the league head-to-head every week.
Playoffs – 3 division champs and 1 team with the best record that’s not the division champ – weeks 15 and 16. Tiebreakers of H2H record, division record, total points.
Trades are unlimited to be conducted at will. If there is obvious collusion, the trade will be reversed and trading parties consulted.
Free Agency - Free agent pickups are subject to the waiver system, but are otherwise unlimited. A static waiver order system will be used - meaning it shifts only when people make pickups and doesn't re-adjust every week.

sounds like a fun league...

couple questions:

1.) Does this "All Play" head to head mean that, for instance, if you score the most that week, then you go 11-0 for that week, and last would be 0-11?

2.) When is the Draft? Slow or Fast? Normal serpentine I take it.

Thanks

Z-Train, all,

Answers:
1. You have it right. So it is head-to-head scoring just on a global scale. If you have the best record for the week you go 11-0 for that week. At the end of the day this system keeps it the most "fair" and doesn't allow for luck in scheduling.

2. The draft we'd aim to do either the week of August 6th or August 13th - as long as it's not after the 17th. Probably a week day night. It would be a live draft - I don't know what the pick selection timer would be but I guess 90 seconds. And yes, serpentine.

Oh What the hell I could use another league. If spots are still open I will take one.
TheFierce
We're up to 7 owners and only need 5 more. Hopefully a few more interested parties chime in this weekend.

Will the initial WW order be determined by the reverse order of draft positions?

Good question. I suppose that's as fair a system as any.

Leauge's canceled. Not enough interest in time for me to get it going.

Thanks to all those who expressed interest.
