I am starting a new Auction Redraft league this year. I have paid for the website out of my own
pocket. I will be the commisioner and the league will be ran at MyFantasyLeague.com.
This will be a 16 team league with 20 player rosters. Our scoring and roster set up is the
same as the World Championship of Fantasy Football. We will have a long style internet Auction that
starts on August 1st. I am looking for franchise owners that will participate in this August Draft and
manage thier teams with integrity and a competitive spirit. This league will require daily internet access
for the first couple of weeks of August. The auction could last for 3 weeks or so. I guess we'll find out.

Here is a link to the website: http://football8.myfantasyleague.com/2007/home/69644

If you are interested in participating, please send me a PM with your email address, so I can send you an invitation.
LoneWolf1023
While I wish I could join, I was wondering if you have ever tried www.fantasyauctioneer.com for your auction drafts? It's a quick auction format that is a blast to do. Instead of having to wait 12 hours to see if you got a player, you have to hold the high bid for something like 5 or 10 seconds. This is almost like a real auction in that something is put up for bid, then everyone bids at a fast paced. It's a LOT more fun then a regular slow roll auction.

Anyway, just thought I would mention it. Try the demo on the site and I think you'll be hooked. smile.gif

I haven't tried that one yet. I'll have to give it a whirl this year. In the meantime, I have my
Auction Masters Challenge set up and paid for, so I will continue to lobby for quality franchise
owners. Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like something fun to do this summer.

Graden
Well, the league is filling up nicely. I have 12 out of the 16 teams spoken for. One of the 4 team
divisions has 3 ff.com members in it and I would like the last open spot to go to a FF.com member.
(the 3 in the division are Nutty, Kingdiamond and myself) Any one of you want to compete in a
an auction against seasoned FF.com vets? The rest of the league so far is also seasoned players
from other walks of fantasy football life and we have 1 newbee so far.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks,

Graden
Graden
Okay, got one more spot open. We might have 2 (one guy is on the fence now).

Anyone else interested?
Nutty
Quick question - keepers or no?

TheFallenOne
I'd love to join, however, I'm in the Pacific time zone and...of course...I work 8AM - 6PM (Monday to Friday).

If you tell me I won't miss any of the auction action, then sign me up. But I suspect that (sigh) my availability won't align with the rest of the league.

Anymore openings donkey is interested

No Keepers. I would like this to start a fresh full auction every season.

I live in Washington state and work the same hours. I have one more spot open and since you were the
first to respond first, you have first crack at it. PM me your email address and I will send you an
invite.

I believe we are now full. There is one more team that the owner has not signed up and I have an
alternate lined up....but if that falls through, Donkey is the first on the waiting list.

After we are full up, I will have some polls and things to do for the league until the
auction. About half the league has experiance in a simular format and the
other half will need to have a little exposure to the MFL auction format.

Graden
Well gents, we're full up.

TheFallenOne and NoMoreMrNiceGuy have taken the last 2 spots. NMMNG had sent me
an email.

If any of the teams drop out before or during the auction we will offer that spot to
Donkey.

I feel compelled to let the league know that two members of the league are current
Convicts. It could be dangerous.

All hail these boards. Hell, I've never seen a more passionate group of guys fighting to fill each other's leagues.

Thank [insert diety] I found this place!

Welcome to the league thefallenone, this promises to be a fun league all season long and yeah, thats the thing I love about this site, join a league and you will find a great level and a group of people too intensive about this hobby.
NoMoreMrNiceGuy
Just a request, but can the guys in the league put your ff.com user name in with your name on the league site? That way we all know who each other are a little easier.

Good to go Rob. Tiarzvei.gif

BTW, did you all notice the e-mail address for the Giggity Giggity team? You may want to make sure he stands in front of you at the auction. biggrin.gif

The auction may be 47 days away, but I must say that the Bronko Nagurski division is going to be one bad ass division. It will be nice to say that I kicked the snout out of 3 high quality owners. football.gif

BraksDad
I'm struggling to find a good description of how the auction works.
Where can we find one?
Graden
I will have more info to come on how to work the website for the auction. The general auction setup is now at the bottom of the main league page. I have posted a copy of it here.

http://football8.myfantasyleague.com/2007/home/69644

Auction Draft Process:

Each team will start with a $200 auction salary cap. We will all bid on players until we have filled our 20 player roster. All 10 starting positions must be filled in the auction draft.
The Auction will begin on August 1st at 9 am ET (12 noon PT). During this day each team will be required to nominate 2 players for auction. The minimum bid is $1. The players nominated will
stay on the board until they stay at a high bid for 24 hours. When a player is won and off the board , the team that nominated that player is responsible for nominating a new player within 24 hours.
As a team owner, you are responsible for tracking the 2 players that you have nominated on the board regardless of who has the high bid on that player. With 16 teams nominating 2 players each,
we will have 32 players on the board at the same time. If this simple process is not followed, progressive discipline will be administered by the commissioner. Progressive Discipline in this area consists of:
1) A verbal warning by the commissioner. 2) A $2 deduction from the offending teams auction salary cap. 3) A $3 deduction from the teams salary cap. And will continue. It is the commisioners hope that
none of this progressive discipline is needed.

When you put in a nomination bid on a player, you have control of that player until someone else puts in a higher bid. We will have proxy bidding that is simular to how ebay works.

Example: Team A nominates Peyton Manning for $25. He hits the board at the minimum $1 nomination. Team B then bids $15 on Peyton,...Team A still has control of Peyton at $16. Team B then bids on Peyton for $30
and then takes control of him with a high bid of $26. If Peyton stays at that high bid price for 24 hours, team B wins Peyton. Then team A must nominate another player within 24 hours.
When replacement players are nominated, there is a notation box in which to write a note. Use this box to tell the league who the nomination replaces. In this last example, Lets say the team A wants to then
nominate Tom Brady , when Team A puts in the nomination, they write a note " replaces Peyton Manning".

We will also use the message board on the front league page to communicate and iron out problems. This style of draft will require daily checking up on the internet. I realize that folks have summer plans in August, so you will likely want to make sure you can get internet access everyday or find a reliable freind to run your auction for a day or 2.

Okay,

We will be ready to start the Auction this coming Wednesday. If anyone has questions,
please let me know. If anyone is new to the auction process at MFL and would like
to practice, let me know. I have set up a phony league that I can send you an
invitation too and then you can practice using the website.
Graden
When the auction get's started this coming Wednesday, I will post a link to the auction page here.
That way outsiders can take a little look at the activities. I know you Fantasy Football Voyeurs
will want a peek.
Graden
Here is the link to the lead page which has the auction progress at the top.

http://football27.myfantasyleague.com/2007/home/69644

Also. We may have the need for a last second replacement.
If anyone is interested in being on a stand by list, let me know.
This league is only $5 for a trophy.

NoMoreMrNiceGuy
By the looks of the rediculous bids on the board, we need SEVERAL replacement owners. blink.gif They do know we only have $200 to spend, right? wacko.gif

Graden
In my opinion we have 15 good owners that will live with thier successes and failures.
And one loose cannon who has tested the commissioner 1 too many times in one day.

He made of 20 nomination violations at 5 different times with clear consequences
between each wave of violations.

Glad to have good owners like you NMMNG.

This should get interesting seeing how a lot of teams will need to be getting a bunch of guys at $1 to make up for the high bids.

I can tell you one thing LT @ 85 dollars is a still a steal in my eyes... When you look at the prices some of these other low end RB's are going for it makes LT's price look like its on Rollback @ Walmart.

You guys signing QB's what are you thinking??? Seriously I want to know your projections that warrant that money? I read the scoring and it basically said you can feel free to take Losman cause QB's are worthless here, but maybe you can let me in on the QB $$$ reason

SHHHHHHHHHHHH! wink.gif

Sorry Doc, no single player is worth almost half of your auction funds. Most top players pull around 20% to 30% of your total budget. JMHO. But, good luck to you.

BTW, KevinJay would be a great addition.

With a defense pulling $17 and a kicker going for $8 out of the gate, LT2s price is looking pretty good.

I like E-Rocks and his Peyton-Brady duo. cool.gif

Doc, what are you talking about??? Let's take a 300-yard, 3TD, 2 pick game for example.

At PaTD = 6, 1 point per 25 yards and -2 per pick...you get 26 points (typical scoring)

Under Graden's scoring format...you get 25 points (PaTD = 4, 1 point per 20 yards, -1 per pick)

Same thing basically. I hope you *also* studied Blitz scoring this well tongue.gif
