At the scrimmage yesterday I noticed that the rattlers were wearing different pants than they normally do. I dont know if these are just practice uniforms or what. I wish they could wear the teal uniforms for a couple of games this year to change things up a bit, and maybe give out a few more bobbleheads or something.

There will be new uniforms for the 2008 season. The pants the team wore yesterday gave us a small hint as to the design. I don't know when or how they will announce them, but they did mention this in the letter that was sent to season ticket holders a few months ago when they announced the "playoff guarantee."

I did a little bit of searching around about the new jerseys and went to the afl store at arenafootball.com. If the jerseys they are selling are the ones our boys are going to be wearing this year, I think they made a pretty good choice. They look more modern than what they have been wearing. I liked the Rattlers old look, but the new uniforms aren't bad. Just more color.

The new uniform is okay looking. I don't like the red color on the uniform. What happened to the copper?

I think they are claiming that the dark red is a copper-ish color. I'm told that the photos don't do the color justice and it is closer to copper. I hope so.

In person the copper is much closer to copper! I am not sure why it goes red in the photos. I was very skeptical after seeing the picture on the web and was very pleased on Monday to see that they really look good when they are on a player not a hanger! Trust me, our boys will make these look good!

There are several shades of copper and it's one of the hardest colors to get right. Since the beginning of the franchise, the helmets have really been more gold than copper. The copper on the sleeves of the old uniforms has never been an exact match for the helmet color.

I drive what I call a "copper-colored" Jeep and it also never matched either the helmets or the Rattler insignia that used to be on the uniform pants. But now it more closely matches the copper shade that is in the new jerseys.

Teal isn't all that easy either. You can see from the picture above compared to the "artist's" rendition that the teal is darker on the uniforms than on the drawing.

I like the new uniforms.
