If you haven't heard, the player benches will be in the north end zone this year. The change was made so they can create a "VIP" zone at the 25 yard lines. I know a few other arenas have this setup, but it doesn't seem conducive to the game considering a 50 yard run for substitutions, now that it's free substitution. If they keep screwing around with the rules and the arena setups re: coaches off the field, special box seats behind the net, eliminating returns in the north end zone etc. etc, they are going to slow the game down.

Esteban...I agree, putting them in the endzone is STUPID!

I for one do not like that the benches will be in the North end zone. What is going to happen when a team is in the South end zone and a substition needs to be made or if you need to rush on the field goal unit? We'll see what happens but I think the benches should stay within the 50 yard field.
