I'm all for that.

Several months back, I read a post on the Nashville Kats message board by someone who knows DeMatteo and had talked to him about the injury. Cosmo told the person that the injury was career ending and he would not be able to play football again.

I don't think that's the case. The reply he sent me indicated that he had talked to several teams about playing in 2008, but hadn't had any offers.

Wow. I had no idea his injury was that serious. I wondered why they didn't bring him back.

Esteban- Why would he have no offers? Why in the world would the Rattlers not bring him back?

Not sure why he had no solid offers. I did contact several people in the Rattler management and request that they talk with him. Response was that they had talked to him. Not sure why they wouldn't want to get him back.

Here is an excerpt from an email from Cosmo...

"Thanks for your support. I hate to say it but the rumor is true I was not able to recover from my foot injury. I am going to have another surgery to hopefully alleviate some of the pain. I am going to Miss Arizona and the rattlers mainly because of fans and people like your self."

Too bad! Man, he was great!
The whole situation around the refs not calling the bounce off of the boards on the play that resulted in his injury really irks me.
