Former Rattler Chris Horn has made the final cut with the Carolina Panthers. He was all set to rejoin the Rattlers for the 2007 season when the Panthers signed him in January. Of course, he still had to make the team and it was announced today that he will be on the 53-man squad. Panthers' General Manager Marty Hurney said this about Chris:
"Chris is a player who came in and made people notice him from mini-camp on. He's got experience and versatility as far as playing a number of spots. He had a very good training camp. It's like all these guys who made it, they earned it with their performance. Some of these decisions were very, very hard, but that's a good position to be in."
The Panthers will play the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium on October 14.

To quote John Madden, "hey, wait a minute!"
The Panthers waived Chris and another player today upon picking up 2 other free agents.
I'm glad I didn't get tickets to that stupid Cardinals game.

If the NFL doesn't work out it would be nice to see Horn back in a Rattler uniform. The speedy deep threat this team needs. As for the Cardinal tickets I thought getting tickets to any Cardinal game would be stupid. I am not making fun of Cardinal fans, I just don't like the Bidwills.

Any update on Chris Horn? Any chance he'll come to AZ?

Wide receiver Chris Horn, who lives in the Valley and is without an NFL team, said he could return to the Rattlers.
"You get to a certain point in a season, and the percentages go down as far as getting an opportunity in the NFL," said Horn, who was released by the Carolina Panthers before the season.
Rattlers Managing Partner Brett Bouchy said he is excited about the possibility of having Horn, newly signed free agent Siaha Burley and second-year player Trandon Harvey working with new quarterback Lang Campbell.
Bouchy said he believes the Rattlers could possess the best trio of receivers in the Arena Football League and thinks Campbell could throw 100 touchdown passes.
Horn, 30, said he and the Rattlers are discussing his possible return. He played the 2001, 2002 and part of the 2003 seasons with the Rattlers before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent. He played the 2004 and 2005 seasons with the Chiefs. His best season with the Rattlers was in 2002, when he caught 104 passes for 1,324 yards and 29 touchdowns.
"I think the biggest thing that I fought in the NFL as an undrafted player is that I'm playing against a lot of drafted players," Horn said. "A lot of times it's, 'How much is an organization invested in me as opposed to a drafted player?' "

If the NFL doesn't work out this year for Chris it would be great to see Chris back with the Rattlers. The team would then have two of the fastest receivers in the league. With Trandon Harvey or even Darrell Jones(not sure if he will be the team), that would be an amazing trio.

The roster shows Chris Horn as a wide receiver. Seems we signed him without any fanfare!

Two things about Horn is he has great hands and speed. I am hoping he stays with the team if so having Horn and Burley as two wideouts will make other teams scramble on how to cover them. As for competition with the Cats it certainly would be back and make the games exciting again.

I don't think they had to sign him. When he left the team for the Chiefs in 2003, he was under contract. The Rattlers put him on other league exempt status and on 9/28/07, they activated him.
